In 2014, an extraordinary individual named Robert dared to dream big. Fueled by a vision of creating a permanent symbol of diversity and dignity for all LGBTQ+ people, he fearlessly petitioned The City of Atlanta. Undeterred by numerous obstacles and adversities, Robert remained steadfast in his mission to bring the Rainbow Crosswalks to life, breathing life into his vision with unwavering determination.
Against all odds, Robert's unwavering commitment resonated with the hearts of many, igniting a powerful wave of support. Through a remarkable GoFundMe campaign, an outpouring of generosity ensued, with close to $50,000 in donations pouring in from passionate individuals eager to contribute to this transformative project.
With Robert's extraordinary leadership guiding the way, the Rainbow Crosswalks were brought to life, painting the streets of Atlanta with vibrant colors that exude love, inclusivity, and pride. In 2017, these symbolic crosswalks solidified their place as a permanent fixture within the city, forever etching their mark in the history of Atlanta and becoming a powerful testament to the triumph of unity.
Not only did this project uplift the spirit of the LGBTQ+ community, but it also left a lasting impact on the city as a whole. The surplus funds generated through the campaign were graciously donated to notable non-profit organizations in Atlanta, further bolstering the support and resources available to the community.
The Rainbow Crosswalks stand tall as Atlanta's first major LGBTQ+ public art project, transcending boundaries and nurturing an environment of love, acceptance, and celebration. Born February 11, 1983 -Robert's journey began at a tender age when he undertook his first design project, remodeling his family home with architectural and interior plans that showcased his innate talent. This early endeavor ignited a passion that would continue to evolve throughout his remarkable career, shaping his unique approach to design.
To refine his natural design skills, Robert pursued an education at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, graduating with the highest honors of summa cum laude. Equipped with a profound understanding of artistic expression, he embarked on a career at Valley Forge Textiles, the world's leading supplier of decorative upholstery fabrics for the hospitality industry. Collaborating with prestigious hoteliers such as The Biltmore, Caesar's Palace, Mandarin Oriental, Nikko, Le Meridian, W, Ritz Carlton, and Lowes, Robert crafted exquisite interior design schemes that exuded opulence and sophistication.
In 2008, the vibrant energy of New York City beckoned Robert, where he joined forces with renowned fashion houses including Polo Ralph Lauren, Rugby Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, OPRAH Magazine, and Kenneth Cole. His exceptional talents led him to assume the role of acting Global Visual Manager of the prestigious Calvin Klein "HOME" collection. Leveraging his fashion expertise and infusing it with a deep appreciation for period architecture and bygone design styles, Robert ventured into his own lifestyle brand—the illustrious "RSJ Collection." This remarkable endeavor encompasses a range of offerings, from fine unisex jewelry featuring precious gemstones like pearls and emeralds to luxury home fragrances and candles, all embodying a harmonious blend of elegance and contemporary allure.

He made history as the first gay bachelor to grace television screens, captivating audiences on Logo TV's groundbreaking series, Finding Prince Charming.
